Crystal meth is a member of the amphetamine group of stimulant drugs. It is a long lasting drug that affects the brain and nervous system of users. It is often smoked and can be very powerful and addictive.
Crystal meth can be snorted, injected, taken orally or the cyrstaline form can be smoked and is often called ‘ice’.
What are the effects of taking crystal meth?
The effects are similar to other amphetamines and in particular crack cocaine, only longer-lasting. People taking crystal meth can experience a feeling of exhilaration, increased awareness and arousal. It is also an appetite suppressant.
Is crystal meth addictive?
Crystal meth use can result in psychological and physical dependence and is extremely addictive when smoked or injected.

What classification is crystal meth?
Crystal meth is classified as a Class A drug. Possession of Class A drugs carries a maximum penalty of 7 years imprisonment and a fine and a maximum penalty of life imprisonment and a fine for supply.
